SUGAR Consortium Meeting 6  will be held in Bruxelles from the 3rd to 6th  May. The Agenda is available HERE. The meeting will take place at POLIS venue in Rue du Trône 98 - 1050 Brussels.



SUGAR invites you to its workshop on 3 May in Brussels, where Good Practice Sites Emilia Romagna, Paris, London and Barcelona will share their experiences in the field of sustainable urban freight management and logistics, as well as present intermediate project findings. SUGAR has been looking into the following policy leverages:
- transport: access control, circulation, regulation pricing, signage, intelligent communication technologies applied to transport, etc.;
- environment: incentives for using clean vehicles and modes, regulations on vehicle typologies and usage in critical environmental zones, etc.,
- space and territory: planning and development of distribution areas, loading areas, industrial zones, economic development zones, etc.
These policy leverages, together with partnership building with logistics and transport operators, are the necessary ingredients to creating a tailored solution for more efficient urban freight transport management. Registration deadline extended until 29 April 2011!

The 3rd Joint Planning Exercise took place in Prague on 17th, 18th and 19th of January 2011. The JPE was divided in two sessions for transport problems solving in Ústí nad Labem and Prague.


SUGAR Seminar: “Urban freight management : an exchange of good practices in the European context and beyond”


On 16 of November, the Central European Initiative has successfully organised in Tirana the seminar on “Urban Freight Management: an Exchange of Good Practices in the European context and beyond” in the framework of the SUGAR Project (Sustainable Urban Goods logistics Achieved by Regional and local policies), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and made possible by the INTERREG IVC programme.

SUGAR will organise a dissemination event for national level stakeholders back-to-back with the SEETAC Second Ministerial Conference in Tirana on 15-16 November 2010.  SEETAC – South East Europe Transport Axis Cooperation – is a project co-funded by the South East Europe Programme with a wide partnership composed by the highest level institutions in the field of transport and environment in the region, such as the Ministries of transport of Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, the Ministry of Environment of Italy. The participation of ministries of countries outside the EU is one of the significant aspects of the SEETAC project:  Albania, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Montenegro.
Both events will be organised by the CEI and the Albanian Ministry of Public Works and Transport,  host of the Ministerial conference.
